**Mission Statement from the IB
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who
help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end
the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging
programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students
across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people,
with their differences, can also be right.
Duration and Timetable
The Diploma Programme takes two years and regular classes are held between 1st October and 30th June. Students who attend other schools can be taught after their regular classes. Students living further away can be taught at the weekends.Subjects
The subjects taught are: Bulgarian Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Maths, History, Biology, Art, Theory of Knowledge, Creativity, Activity, Service and Extended Essay.Assessment
Objective assessment is ensured through internal and external exams. The reliability and accuracy of the grades is assured by the DP assessment procedures which measure the extent to which students have mastered advanced academic skills in fulfilling these goals.
